Week 16 - FHLOG BOWL II CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

How's it going with everyone? Merry Christmas to everyone out there. I am posting this now on Monday because I have the time to. I went to work this morning and found out I and 2 other guys are being laid off with 5 more to follow in a short time. We'll all be able to collect, it's just there isn't much work going on now. So if anybody needs any electrical work done for a very fair rate, I could use some work. My cell # is 441-3340. Thanks everyone. I still haven't even begun to think about when we will all go out to eat together. Now on to the information which everyone wants to know. The winner of the Fhlog Bowl is ...... VY, let it Fly!!!! Even if I made the smart decision and sat Warner in the snow I would have still needed 49 pts from Aaron Rodgers tonight against the Bears so congratulations go out to VY on a fantastic season.

Week 15 playoffs in the FHLOG

Hey guys, what's happening? And then there were two. The scores are all tallied and the matchup for FHLOG Bowl II is all set. Congratulations go out to the Dragonriders, who had a 2nd consecutive season in the playoffs. I know in the beginning of the season, he didn't seem too confident about his team but he made a great move in acquiring Matt Ryan early in the year. He certainly displayed great poise for a rookie quarterback. The Big Uglies as well made some great moves in acquiring Chris Johnson, Steve Slaton, and Eli Manning. He built a pretty strong team for a rookie in our league. But it was not to be for these 2 franchises. They will have to sit back, watch, and think about what might have been. This week's performer of the week was the Goroos wr Andre Johnson with 61 pts.

Gruesome Goroos 289
The Big Uglies 187

The Goroos were running on all cylinders this week with Andre Johnson (61 pts), Steve Smith (53 pts), NE offense (53 pts) all scoring big. The Big Uglies were led by Minnesota's defense (38 pts) and wr Calvin Johnson with 37 pts.

VY, let it Fly 196
Dragonriders 157

VY had a strong effort from rb Michael "the burner" Turner with 55 pts, Indy's offense (41 pts), and Romo with 30 pts. The Dragonriders were hurt by only one healthy rb and they needed a stronger effort from their qb. The Dragonriders were led by Miami's defense with 30 pts.

Gruesome Goroos vs VY, let it Fly

I wish you the best of luck this week Frank, and hope for a close, exciting matchup. I will have to call everyone after New Year's and set up a time where we can all go out, eat, and have a good time together. Take care everyone and have a wonderful and safe Christmas and New Years.

Week 14

Hey, what's going on? There were 3 deals this week involving 2 teams getting ready for the postseason and 3 teams stocking up for next year. The Dragonriders pulled off the blockbuster with Gridiron Gal acquiring qb Cutler, rb Gore, and wr Wayne. Mark sent wr Antonio Bryant, wr Breaston, and Indy's defense to Gridiron Gal along with 1500 credits and the Dragonriders 1st rd pick in 2009. The Gruesome Goroos acquired rb Adrian Peterson from Pats' Pride for a 1000 credits and te Tony Gonzalez from Iron Man for 500 credits. The Goroos sent rb Hightower to Pats' Pride and te Gates to Iron Man. The top player of the week was newly acquired Gridiron Gal wr Antonio Bryant with an incredible game last night scoring 72 points. On to the scores and highlights.

Pats' Pride 165
Indonesian Apostles 86

The Pride ends the season with a bittersweet victory thinking about what could have been. Cory drafted a great team the last 2 years, I just feel he could have made some moves to get further. Donald had his eye on 2009 from about week 3 on. We should expect another solid season next year from the Italian Stallions, Italian Batallion, Sparkcones, Blue Stars, Indonesian Apostles franchise next year ( Is that all of them Don?). The Pride was led by S.D. offense with 44 pts while the IA's were led by wr Wes Welker with 37 pts.

Gruesome Goroos 234
Dragonriders 167

A solid last game of the regular season between these 2 heavyweights. The Goroos clinched the #2 seed with the win. The Goroos were led by rb Westbrook with 60 pts while the Dragonriders were led by qb Matt Ryan with 41 pts.

Gridiron Gal 181
Belugas 110

The season ends mercifully for these 2 franchises. At least Gridiron Gal made a move at the end with an eye towards next season. Gridiron Gal was led by wr Bryant with 72 pts while the Belugas were led by qb Brees with 30 pts.

VY, let it Fly 178
The O.C. 107

And the O.C. wins the Scarlet L!!!! The league used to honor the least productive team ( the biggest loser) with the honor of wearing a sizable felt capital L upon the forehead during the end of season gettogether. I think we should bring it back!!!! What do you think guys? VY gained the #1 seed in the playoffs. VY was led by wr Brandon Marshall with 35 pts while the O.C. was led by Indy's defense with 39 pts.

Iron Man 158
Bam's Punishers 135

These 2 franchises had the unlucky distinction of being in the Beta Division, by far the most difficult division in the FHLOG. It indeed was a quality season by both 1st time members in our league. Walter's team was led by qb Rivers with 41 pts while Joe Behm's team was led by rb Grant with 34 pts.

The Big Uglies 178
Zach's team 162

The Big Uglies finished a terrific regular season locking up the #3 seed. His final record is 7-7, but I he lost 3 or 4 games by a single point. Zach finished a tough year, he and the Belugas having to draft their teams after we held our draft. But Zach did have a few bright spots being Peyton Manning, Marshawn Lynch, and Roddy White. The Big Uglies were led by rb Chris Johnson with 46 pts while Zach was led by wr Roddy White with 48 pts.

Week 13 in our league

How's it going everyone? This week Gridiron Gal bought Dallas' offense from the Orange Crush for 750 credits. She needed more than that. The 4 teams that will make the playoffs are the Dragonriders, Goroos, VY, let it fly, and the Big Uglies. That is already set in stone. I thought that the 1st rd of the playoffs was already set but I just realized that VY, let it fly could still wind up as the #1 seed. He is guaranteed of a win facing the O.C. this week. With the Dragonriders and Goroos facing off this week, that game will determine Week 15's matchups. The player of the week was the Goroos rb Westbrook with 59 pts. On to the scores and highlights.

VY, let it fly 182
Indonesian Apostles 42

VY is now just tuning it up for the playoffs. The Apostles have done a disgraceful job of playing spoiler the last few weeks!! VY's player of the week was qb Romo with 51 pts while the IA's were led by a measily 10 pts each from wr Santana Moss and k Hanson. Anytime your kicker ends up leading your team in scoring, there are serious problems!!

Dragonriders 193
Bam's Punishers 110

Sorry I never got back to you Mark, but Bam's lineup was Cassel, Jacobs, Grant, Colston, Ward, etc. The Dragonriders keep rolling with a balanced attack led by te Witten with 37 pts while Bam's was led by wr Colston with 28 pts.

Big Uglies 218
Gridiron Gal 207

This game put the Uglies over the top into the playoffs. The Big Uglies were led by rb Chris Johnson with 52 pts (didn't he make those Lions look silly?) while Gridiron Gal was led by qb Cutler with 54 pts.

Pats' Pride 147
O. C. 16

No that is not an error, the O.C. put out all the stops in this matchup!! The Pride was led by rb Adrian Peterson with 41 pts while the O.C. was led by rb McFadden with 11 pts.

Iron Man 222
Gruesome Goroos 189

This game came down to Walter having Pitt's off and def and I had NE off and def. Enough said. Iron Man was led by rb Thomas Jones with 57 pts while the Goroos were led by rb Westbrook with 59 pts.

Belugas 128
Zach's team 124

Bob's team was led by Green Bay's offense with 41 pts while Zach's was led by rb Marshawn Lynch with 34 pts.
