Week 16 - FHLOG BOWL II CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

How's it going with everyone? Merry Christmas to everyone out there. I am posting this now on Monday because I have the time to. I went to work this morning and found out I and 2 other guys are being laid off with 5 more to follow in a short time. We'll all be able to collect, it's just there isn't much work going on now. So if anybody needs any electrical work done for a very fair rate, I could use some work. My cell # is 441-3340. Thanks everyone. I still haven't even begun to think about when we will all go out to eat together. Now on to the information which everyone wants to know. The winner of the Fhlog Bowl is ...... VY, let it Fly!!!! Even if I made the smart decision and sat Warner in the snow I would have still needed 49 pts from Aaron Rodgers tonight against the Bears so congratulations go out to VY on a fantastic season.

Week 15 playoffs in the FHLOG

Hey guys, what's happening? And then there were two. The scores are all tallied and the matchup for FHLOG Bowl II is all set. Congratulations go out to the Dragonriders, who had a 2nd consecutive season in the playoffs. I know in the beginning of the season, he didn't seem too confident about his team but he made a great move in acquiring Matt Ryan early in the year. He certainly displayed great poise for a rookie quarterback. The Big Uglies as well made some great moves in acquiring Chris Johnson, Steve Slaton, and Eli Manning. He built a pretty strong team for a rookie in our league. But it was not to be for these 2 franchises. They will have to sit back, watch, and think about what might have been. This week's performer of the week was the Goroos wr Andre Johnson with 61 pts.

Gruesome Goroos 289
The Big Uglies 187

The Goroos were running on all cylinders this week with Andre Johnson (61 pts), Steve Smith (53 pts), NE offense (53 pts) all scoring big. The Big Uglies were led by Minnesota's defense (38 pts) and wr Calvin Johnson with 37 pts.

VY, let it Fly 196
Dragonriders 157

VY had a strong effort from rb Michael "the burner" Turner with 55 pts, Indy's offense (41 pts), and Romo with 30 pts. The Dragonriders were hurt by only one healthy rb and they needed a stronger effort from their qb. The Dragonriders were led by Miami's defense with 30 pts.

Gruesome Goroos vs VY, let it Fly

I wish you the best of luck this week Frank, and hope for a close, exciting matchup. I will have to call everyone after New Year's and set up a time where we can all go out, eat, and have a good time together. Take care everyone and have a wonderful and safe Christmas and New Years.

Week 14

Hey, what's going on? There were 3 deals this week involving 2 teams getting ready for the postseason and 3 teams stocking up for next year. The Dragonriders pulled off the blockbuster with Gridiron Gal acquiring qb Cutler, rb Gore, and wr Wayne. Mark sent wr Antonio Bryant, wr Breaston, and Indy's defense to Gridiron Gal along with 1500 credits and the Dragonriders 1st rd pick in 2009. The Gruesome Goroos acquired rb Adrian Peterson from Pats' Pride for a 1000 credits and te Tony Gonzalez from Iron Man for 500 credits. The Goroos sent rb Hightower to Pats' Pride and te Gates to Iron Man. The top player of the week was newly acquired Gridiron Gal wr Antonio Bryant with an incredible game last night scoring 72 points. On to the scores and highlights.

Pats' Pride 165
Indonesian Apostles 86

The Pride ends the season with a bittersweet victory thinking about what could have been. Cory drafted a great team the last 2 years, I just feel he could have made some moves to get further. Donald had his eye on 2009 from about week 3 on. We should expect another solid season next year from the Italian Stallions, Italian Batallion, Sparkcones, Blue Stars, Indonesian Apostles franchise next year ( Is that all of them Don?). The Pride was led by S.D. offense with 44 pts while the IA's were led by wr Wes Welker with 37 pts.

Gruesome Goroos 234
Dragonriders 167

A solid last game of the regular season between these 2 heavyweights. The Goroos clinched the #2 seed with the win. The Goroos were led by rb Westbrook with 60 pts while the Dragonriders were led by qb Matt Ryan with 41 pts.

Gridiron Gal 181
Belugas 110

The season ends mercifully for these 2 franchises. At least Gridiron Gal made a move at the end with an eye towards next season. Gridiron Gal was led by wr Bryant with 72 pts while the Belugas were led by qb Brees with 30 pts.

VY, let it Fly 178
The O.C. 107

And the O.C. wins the Scarlet L!!!! The league used to honor the least productive team ( the biggest loser) with the honor of wearing a sizable felt capital L upon the forehead during the end of season gettogether. I think we should bring it back!!!! What do you think guys? VY gained the #1 seed in the playoffs. VY was led by wr Brandon Marshall with 35 pts while the O.C. was led by Indy's defense with 39 pts.

Iron Man 158
Bam's Punishers 135

These 2 franchises had the unlucky distinction of being in the Beta Division, by far the most difficult division in the FHLOG. It indeed was a quality season by both 1st time members in our league. Walter's team was led by qb Rivers with 41 pts while Joe Behm's team was led by rb Grant with 34 pts.

The Big Uglies 178
Zach's team 162

The Big Uglies finished a terrific regular season locking up the #3 seed. His final record is 7-7, but I he lost 3 or 4 games by a single point. Zach finished a tough year, he and the Belugas having to draft their teams after we held our draft. But Zach did have a few bright spots being Peyton Manning, Marshawn Lynch, and Roddy White. The Big Uglies were led by rb Chris Johnson with 46 pts while Zach was led by wr Roddy White with 48 pts.

Week 13 in our league

How's it going everyone? This week Gridiron Gal bought Dallas' offense from the Orange Crush for 750 credits. She needed more than that. The 4 teams that will make the playoffs are the Dragonriders, Goroos, VY, let it fly, and the Big Uglies. That is already set in stone. I thought that the 1st rd of the playoffs was already set but I just realized that VY, let it fly could still wind up as the #1 seed. He is guaranteed of a win facing the O.C. this week. With the Dragonriders and Goroos facing off this week, that game will determine Week 15's matchups. The player of the week was the Goroos rb Westbrook with 59 pts. On to the scores and highlights.

VY, let it fly 182
Indonesian Apostles 42

VY is now just tuning it up for the playoffs. The Apostles have done a disgraceful job of playing spoiler the last few weeks!! VY's player of the week was qb Romo with 51 pts while the IA's were led by a measily 10 pts each from wr Santana Moss and k Hanson. Anytime your kicker ends up leading your team in scoring, there are serious problems!!

Dragonriders 193
Bam's Punishers 110

Sorry I never got back to you Mark, but Bam's lineup was Cassel, Jacobs, Grant, Colston, Ward, etc. The Dragonriders keep rolling with a balanced attack led by te Witten with 37 pts while Bam's was led by wr Colston with 28 pts.

Big Uglies 218
Gridiron Gal 207

This game put the Uglies over the top into the playoffs. The Big Uglies were led by rb Chris Johnson with 52 pts (didn't he make those Lions look silly?) while Gridiron Gal was led by qb Cutler with 54 pts.

Pats' Pride 147
O. C. 16

No that is not an error, the O.C. put out all the stops in this matchup!! The Pride was led by rb Adrian Peterson with 41 pts while the O.C. was led by rb McFadden with 11 pts.

Iron Man 222
Gruesome Goroos 189

This game came down to Walter having Pitt's off and def and I had NE off and def. Enough said. Iron Man was led by rb Thomas Jones with 57 pts while the Goroos were led by rb Westbrook with 59 pts.

Belugas 128
Zach's team 124

Bob's team was led by Green Bay's offense with 41 pts while Zach's was led by rb Marshawn Lynch with 34 pts.

Week 12 in the FHLOG

Greetings! This week Bam's Punishers dropped wr Devery Henderson and picked up qb Matt Cassell. The way Cassell has been playing, he's a bargain at only 500 credits! I just wonder how he'll do this week against a stout Pittsburgh defense. VY dropped wr Gage for picking up Brandon Marshall in last week's trade with the O.C. Gridiron Gal bought Dallas' defense from the O.C. for 750 credits. I'm going to have to start referring to the Orange Crush franchise as " The Bank". He's going to have about 30,000 credits to start next year! If anybody is interested, Frank is offering Larry Johnson in trade ( cell # 497-2882). Top player of the week was, who else, Drew Brees of the Belugas franchise with 69 points. On to the scores and highlights.

Indonesian Apostles 78
Orange Crush 37

Danny looks likes he's back on track for Brady next year! Players of the game for the IA's was wr Welker with 33 pts while rb McFadden scored 20 for the O.C.

Iron Man 211
Dragonriders 162

Iron Man was led by te Gonzalez with 38 while the Dragonriders were led by wr Randy Moss with 51 pts.

Zach's team 109
Gridiron Gal 57

Ouch! Laurie had a real tough week with all her starters but one scoring in single digits. Zach was led by qb P. Mann with 32 while Cutler scored 16 for Gridiron Gal.

VY, let it Fly 227
Pats' Pride 224

VY avenges their week 9 defeat at the hands of Pats' Pride with a close win. These teams are very evenly matched as shown by the score and their records. VY was led by Romo with 58 pts. Pats' Pride put forth a solid effort with rb Forte scoring 47.

Gruesome Goroos 242
Bam's Punishers 124

The Goroos were led by Ne's offense with 58 pts while Bam's was led by Ariz offense and Tampa Bay's defense each scoring 34 for the cause.

The Big Uglies 263
The Belugas 173

The Big Uglies can puff out their chest after this strong effort. Even though Joe didn't score much with his rb's, Terrell Owens (64 pts), The Saints offense ( 51 pts), and Minn defense ( 40 pts) helped to put this game out of reach. The Belugas needed much more than Brees (69 pts) in this contest.

And then we come to the Omega division. The Big Uglies look strong but Gridiron Gal could get a leg up in the division with a win head to head this week coming up.

Week 11 score change

I have a scoring change involving the Dragonriders-Pats' Pride matchup. I forgot to put the Dragonriders' new defense, Miami, into the starting lineup. Mark let me know last night about my glaring mistake. The final score is Dragonriders 179, Pats' Pride 159. So the Dragonriders record is 9-2 and Pats' Pride is 7-4. As I was filling this out, I received a call from Dan Hall, general manager of the Orange Crush franchise. He alerted me to 3 more deals. He sold Reggie Wayne to Gridiron Gal for a 2009 2nd rd pick and 1000 credits. He sold Joseph Addai to the Dragonriders for a 2nd rd pick and 1000 credits. He also sold Brandon Marshall to VY, let it Fly for a 2nd rd pick and 1500 credits. So now as it stands almost half the 2nd rd of next year's draft belongs to the O.C.!! It looks as though it will be a tough draft next year with the O.C. and Indonesian Apostles gobbling up draft picks left and right. The Dragonriders dropped rb Earnest Graham to make room for Addai. I will have to talk to VY, let it fly to find out who he is dropping ( Gridiron Gal now has a full bench) .

Week 11 scores and highlights

Beware!! The Indonesian Apostles have retooled for next year. This week Don dealt rb Jacobs to Bam's Punishers for a 3rd rd pick next year (Bam's dropped rb Felix Jones). So now Don has VY's 1st, Bam's 3rd, and the Goroos 4th rd picks next year. The Dragonriders acquired Miami's defense and the Goroos acquired qb Kurt Warner for half price. The Dragonriders dropped qb Derek Anderson and the Goroos dropped qb Orton. If anybody wants to make a deal for qb Aaron Rodgers, let me know ( cell # 441-3340). The top player of the week was rb Steve Slaton with 57 pts. for the Big Uglies. On to the scores and highlights.

The Belugas 180
Indonesian Apostles 104

The Belugas won with Green Bay's impressive win against Chicago with the offense scoring 41 and the defense scoring 36. The IA's were led by wr Welker with 29 pts.

Gridiron Gal 188
Gruesome Goroos 172

The 2 GG's faced off in their only battle of the season. Gridiron Gal was led by wr T. J. Whosyourmama with 46 while new recruit Kurt Warner scored 50 for the Goroos in a losing effort.

Pats' Pride 159
Dragonriders 150

Cory continues his strong play in the league against a tough opponent. QB Roethlisberger scored 31 for the Pride with wr Boldin scoring 54 for the Dragonriders.

Bam's Punishers 210
Iron Man 162

Bam's Punishers is not giving up on the year yet with a convincing win and a new running back. Bam's was led by rb Grant with 42 while Iron Man was led by rb Thomas Jones with 34 pts.

VY, let it Fly 191
The O. C. 154

Almost an oops by the O.C. You have to be careful scoring that many points! VY was led by wr Fitzgerald with 45 and the O.C. was led by rb Addai with 49 pts.

Zach's team 194
The Big Uglies 182

I had to fix my notebook. I had already put it as a win for the Big Uglies. I didn't figure that Lynch was going to have such a monster game for the Bills Monday night. Zach's team was led by the aforementioned Marshawn Lynch with 51 pts while the tough luck Big Uglies were led by rb Slaton with 57 pts.

Week 10 happenings

How's it going with everyone? The Indonesian Apostles would like it to be known that they have an excellent selection of skill players ( rb Brandon Jacobs, wr Wes Welker, wr Santana Moss, wr Chad Johnson, defense Jacksonville Jaguars) all available for a very fair price. His cell # is 474-1264. This week's transactions involved the Goroos acquiring qb Rodgers from the Apostles for qb Carson Palmer and a 4th rd pick in the 2009 draft. The Goroos also acquired rb Hightower and dropped rb Stewart. The O.C. receives 200 credits from the Dragonriders for the loan of rb Addai and 200 credits from Gridiron Gal for loaning wr Wayne for week 10. Those players return to the O.C. for week 11. The top player of the week was as Danny would say " starting for the Denver Broncos, #6, Jay Cutler with 73 pts for Gridiron Gal. On to the scores and highlights.

Pats' Pride 209
Indonesian Apostles 122

Cory had a strong week with Peterson scoring 64 and Winslow netting 44. Don's in full fire sale mode with Brandon Jacobs ( available to the highest bidder) scoring 43 pts.

Dragonriders 160
Gruesome Goroos 135

The game everyone tuned in to watch, the battle between the titans of the Beta division, the Dragonriders delivered the knockout blow with Boldin's big game on Monday night. The Jags offense scored 48 for the Riders with the Pats' defense scoring 32 for the Goroos in defeat.

Gridiron Gal 212
Belugas 127

The GG's make a statement with their decisive win. Cutler led the way with 73 pts. while the Belugas continue to be a one man team with Brees scoring 58 in the loss.

Iron Man 170
VY, let it fly 135

Walter is continuing to have a solid 1st year in the league while VY drops their 2nd straight. Iron Man was lead by rb Thomas Jones ( 53) and TE Gonzalez (44). VY desperately needs Romo back after Delhomme's terrible game. VY was led by rb Turner and te Scaife with 25 each.

Big Uglies 150
Orange Crush 88

The Big Uglies gained 37 pts from rb Jones-Drew while the Orange Crush is looking pretty ugly lately dressing only 4 positions. The O.C. was led by wr Royal with 57 pts.

Bam's Punishers 166
Zach's team 127

Bam's is having a solid year after starting slowly. I believe he is in the toughest division in our league, the Beta division, where everyone is at least .500. Bam's was led by Ariz offense with 39 pts while Zach was led by Peyton Manning with 43 pts.

Week 9 report

Hey, how's it going with everybody? I know Don's doing alright with a 1st rd pick added to his artillery for next year. I didn't know there was going to be a next year, I thought this was Don's swan song. Well, I'm glad to hear that we'll have him in the league for awhile. So this week we had a few transactions, all involving VY, let it fly. The Indonesian Apostles traded rb Clinton Portis to VY, let it fly for a 2009 1st rd pick and 1000 credits(VY waived wr McCareins). VY also traded rb Slaton to the Big Uglies for a 2009 3rd rd pick (Big Uglies waived wr James Hardy). This was also a very sad week in general with the last undefeated team in the league to finally taste defeat ( I know, boo hoo). The player of the week was Bam's Punishers qb McNabb with 45 pts. On to the scores and highlights.

Indonesian Apostles 109
Orange Crush 66

With both owners now at the point where reality is setting in, realizing that "this is not my year", they have both resorted to sandbagging it. If the O.C. keeps these stellar scores up, he might get a chance for Brady again! The IA's were led by qb Rodgers with 37 pts while the O.C. was led by wr Royal with 22 pts.

Iron Man 170
Dragonriders 160

The Dragonriders drop their 2nd in a row after starting the year with 7 straight victories. They were led by qb Ryan with 28 pts while Walter's team needed their backup qb Trent Edwards ( 28 pts) to pull off the upset.

Zach 127
Gridiron Gal 91

Zach caught Laurie on a week she had most of her team hurt or on the bye. He was led by qb P.Manning with 32 pts while the GG's were led by her qb Cutler with 43 pts.

Pats' Pride 141
VY, let it Fly 133

This shows how much separates these 2 at the top of the Alpha Division. Each is now 6-3 and in a dogfight for the playoffs. Cory's team was led by rb tandem of Forte and Adrian Peterson ( 32 and 39 pts) while VY was led by rb Turner with 33 pts.

Bam's Punishers 158
Gruesome Goroos 98

I know you're all shedding a tear for me right now after my 1st loss. Bam's was led by their qb McNabb ( 45 pts) while the Goroos were led by NE offense with 25 pts.

The Big Uglies 166
The Belugas 61

The Big Uglies are now looking like the team to beat in the Omega Division. He has continued to make the necessary moves to compete in this league while all the other owners in his division have virtually stood pat with their team. Joe's team was led by rb Chris Johnson with 37 pts while the Belugas didn't have much at all going on this week. Green Bay's offense led the Belugas with 21 pts. The Belugas were hurt by having both Brees and Tomlinson on the bye.

Honestly, this is the Week 8 report

I was just checking last week to see if anybody is out there paying attention. The Dragonriders alerted me to the fact that last week was week 7 and this week was week 8. This week's transactions included the O.C. borrowing 2 players for week 7's game. He rented rb Johnathan Stewart from the Goroos for 100 credits and wr Steve Breaston for 200 credits from the Dragonriders. For week 8, those players return to their former teams. The Goroos also picked up wr Donnie Avery ( St. L) and dropped wr Marvin Harrison. The player of the week was the Goroos rb Westbrook with 70 pts. There was another game this week decided by a single point ( relax Big Uglies, it wasn't your game). You'll have to read on to find out who it was.

Indonesian Apostles 156
Gridiron Gal 120

IA's finally get off their schnyde ( probably not spelled that way) with a much needed win. They were led by wr Santana Moss with 56 pts while the GG's were led by rb Gore with 34 pts.

Belugas 153
Dragonriders 152

Dragonriders fall for the 1st time this year. Belugas win with 2 headed monster of Brees and Tomlinson ( 51,47 pts ). Dragonriders were led by qb Matt Ryan with 41 pts.

Gruesome Goroos 266
Pats' Pride 79

Cory had a tough week with only 4 positions filled in his starting lineup. Goroos stay undefeated, led by Westbrook ( 70 pts) while SD offense scored 30 for the Pride.

Zach 162
Iron Man 129

Zach gains 2nd win of year and is only one game back in weak omega division. Roddy White continues breakout season with 49 pts. while Iron Man was led by qb Rivers (who is actually having a great statistical year as well) with 51 pts.

Bam's Punishers 144
Orange Crush 100

The O.C. isn't doing much crushing this year after everything looked great on draft night. That's what makes the NFL so great though, the unpredictable events that inevitably keep happening. Bam's team moves back to .500 with the win. They were led by Ariz off with 33 pts while the O.C. were led by Dallas' defense with 31 pts.

VY, let it fly 163
The Big Uglies 137

VY takes back sole position of 1st place in the Alpha with big win. They were led by new recruit qb Delhomme with 37 pts while the Big Uglies were led by the Saints offense with 47 pts.

Week 8 in the FHLOG

Greetings! This week it seemed as if the top teams kept winning and the teams that have been struggling are continuing to struggle. The Dragonriders this week reacquired qb D. Anderson, cut Edgerrin James and the O.C. dropped the disappointing Laurence Maroney( with Reggie Bush and Addai injured, as well as drafting Brady, the good fortune continues for the O.C.).

Gruesome Goroos 268
Indonesian Apostles 174

New pickup for the Goroos, Orton comes through with 41 pts, NE off scores 51 in the win. Portis scored 55 for last year's champs who are finding wins tough to come by this year.

Dragonriders 127
Gridiron Gal 68

If only Laurie would have called to put Steven Jackson ( 73 pts on the bench) in for Julius Jones.
Dragonriders stay undefeated, led by A. Bryant with 34 pts. Gridiron Gal was led by Cutler with 18 pts.

Pats' Pride 172
Belugas 111

Adrian Peterson led the charge for the Pride with 51 pts while the Belugas gained 32 pts each from Green Bay's off and def.

Iron Man 177
Big Uglies 176

Poor, poor uglies, whatever did you do to deserve 3, count 'em 3 one point losses. If it makes you feel any better Joe, Walter left Holmes and Gonzalez on the bench so you should have really lost by 25.

O.C. 93
Zach 62

A pitchers' duel. J.T. O'Sullivan scored 26 for the O.C. while Zach was led by Marshawn Lynch with 27 pts.

VY, let it fly 122
Bam's Punishers 96

Now VY is proving they can win with backups as Delhomme and Slaton ( 26, 25 pts) filled in admirably in the victory. Bam's was led by rb Ryan Grant with 34 pts.

Week 6 scores and highlights

A good time was had at Walter's house last Sunday ( bet you wish you were there). If anyone else wants to host a Sunday get-together, let it be known. A few moves were made this week in the league with VY, let it fly trading rb Chris Johnson to the Big Uglies for qb Delhomme. VY also dropped qb Kyle Orton and picked up rb Steve Slaton, Texans. The Goroos picked up qb Orton and the O.C. picked up te Anthony Fasano and dropped te Vernon Davis. The top player of the week was VY, let it fly's qb Tony Romo, broken pinky and all with 63 pts. Now on to the scores and highlights.

Big Uglies 221
Indonesian Apostles 166

The rough season for last year's champs continues while the Big Uglies have definitely turned their season around and are right in the race for the Omega division lead. The Big Uglies were led by rb Jones-Drew with 48 pts while rb Portis scored 44 for the IA's.

Dragonriders 199
Orange Crush 147

The Dragonriders keep rolling and stay undefeated. They were led by qb rookie phenom Matt Ryan ( did you see last Sunday) with 37 pts. You don't see too many rookie qb's playing like Ryan. The O.C. were led by wr Wayne with 36 pts.

Gridiron Gal 173
Iron Man 133

The GG's keep the lead in the Omega with the division getting tighter. Gridiron Gal was lead by rb Gore with 36 pts while Iron Man was lead by qb Rivers with 49 pts.

Pats' Pride 170
Zach 102

Cory had a good week even without his qb ( Roethlisberger). He was led by wr Braylon Edwards with his 1st breakout game of the year ( 46 pts). Zach was led by qb P. Manning with 45 pts.

Gruesome Goroos 183
VY, let it fly 171

The Goroos hold up their end of the bargain and stay tied with the Dragonriders for the division as well as being undefeated. The Goroos were led by rb Marion Barber with 57 pts while VY, suddenly looking beatable, were led by their qb Romo with 63 pts.

Belugas 188
Bam's Punishers 150

Belugas are right back in it with 2 wins in a row. They were led by who else but qb Brees with 49 pts. Bam' s Punishers was led by qb McNabb with 34 pts.

Week 5 scores and happenings

What's going on everyone? This week 3 teams gained their 1st win and one team gained their 1st loss. Now that I've peaked your interest, let me get on to the transactions. The Dragonriders picked up wr Steve Breaston, Ariz, dropped qb D. Anderson Clev. Gridiron Gal picked up rb Julius Jones and VY, let it fly picked up wr McCareins and dropped wr Gage. Top performer of the week was Bam's Punishers' Ariz off with 51 pts. On to the scores and highlights.

Indonesian Apostles 177
Zach's team 157

Donald's big three of Rodgers, Jacobs, Portis (49,46,44 pts) prove to be too much. Roddy White scored 39 for Zach. Defending champ gains 1st victory of the season.

Dragonriders 191
VY, let it fly 177

The battle of the undefeateds came down to the final minutes of the contest. Randy Moss scored 40 for the Dragonriders while Romo scored 39 for VY's 1st loss of the year.

Bam's Punishers 214
Gridiron Gal 152

Joe's team was led by Ariz off with 51 while Gridiron Gal was led by T. J. Housh with 31.

Big Uglies 198
Pats' Pride 168

Big Uglies come through with their 1st win of the year. Cooley scored 36 for the victorious Uglies while Roethlisberger scored 49 for Cory's team.

Gruesome Goroos 179
Orange Crush 160

Goroos stay undefeated with NE off and Andre Johnson each scoring 40 pts. O.C. were led by Dal off with 36 pts.

Belugas 133
Iron Man 114

Belugas also gain that 1st elusive win of the season. They were led by Brees with 39 pts while Iron Man had Pitt off scoring 36 for them in the loss.

Week 4 scores and highlights

There was a little more clarification this week as to who is going to challenge for the playoffs this year. We still have a few undefeated teams, a few winless teams, and some somewhere in the middle. This week's transactions included the Big Uglies picking up qb Jake Delhomme and wr James Hardy and the O.C. picking up qb J.T. O'Sullivan and dropping qb Matt Cassell. Top player of the week was VY, let it fly's rb Larry Johnson with 69 pts. It would have been nice if I saw that kind of effort out of him last year when he was my 1st rd pick!

Bam's Punishers 152
Indonesian Apostles 116

Next time you see him, I'm sure you'll hear about this one Don. Bam's was led by Ariz off with 45 pts while the IA's were led by Santana Moss with 36 pts.

Dragonriders 187
Big Uglies 145

Riders keep rolling with Boldin scoring 38. Uglies keep hurting led by new addition Delhomme and Saints off each scoring 41.

Gridiron Gal 202
O.C. 121

Good move Dan letting her win so you're not on the couch! All kidding aside, GG's look to have another tough team to contend with. GG's led by Steven Jackson with 49, O.C. led by wr Eddie Royal with 31.

Pats' Pride 172
Iron Man 114

Cory seems to have another top team this year. Jennings provided 40 pts for the Pride while Iron Man, hurt by Willie Parker's injury, was led by qb Philip Rivers with 20 pts.

Gruesome Goroos 82
Zach's team 74

That's not a misprint there. A lot of punting going on in this matchup. The Goroos, hurt by no qb and no Westbrook, squeak out a win. Zach struggled with P. Manning on the bye and no second receiver. Goroos were led by wr Steve Smith ( Car) with 31 pts. Zach was led by wr Roddy White with 19 pts.

VY, let it fly 252
Belugas 179

VY could have easily reached 300 if Turner had a more Turner-like effort and Indy's offense wasn't on the bye. They look to have the strongest team in my opinion. VY was led by Larry Johnson with 69 big points while Brees scored 53 for the Belugas in another tough loss.

Week 3 in our league

About this time in the season, we start to separate the men from the boys ( and girl, sorry ). This was a very interesting week with a few teams having some impressive scores. This week's transactions had the Big Uglies waiving Bulger and Ricky Williams and picking up Eli Manning and Warrick Dunn, Iron Man picking up qb Trent Edwards and wr Desean Jackson, VY, let it fly acquiring te Bo Scaife, qb Kyle Orton, waiving te Shockey, and Dragonriders picking up wr Antonio Bryant. Another score change this week with Gridiron Gal getting 7 pts added to their week 1 game( Cutler was later credited with 300 yds instead of 299). The top scorer of the week was the Belugas qb Drew Brees with 52 pts. Lastly, I wonder what the Big Uglies did to deserve such a fate. On to the score and highlights.

VY, let it fly 251
Indonesian Apostles 169

The IA's need more converts and are requesting plenty of prayer. Last year's champs start the season 0-3. VY keeps rolling and looks to have a solid team. The IA's were led by Sea off with 47 pts while Michael ( the burner) Turner led their squad with 45.

Dragonriders 131
Bam's Punishers 113

The Dragonriders still won even without playing Ronnie Brown ( 67 Pts). More of a defensive effort than the last game. The Jags offense led the Riders with 27 pts. Not much going on for Joe Behm's team with McNabb scoring 20 in the loss.

Gridiron Gal 193
The Big Uglies 192

Send your condolences in care of the Big Uglies please. For the 2nd straight week, they lose by one point. Gore and T. J who's your mama scored 46 each with Maurice Jones-Drew scoring 43 in a losing effort.

Orange Crush 210
Pats' Pride 161

The O. C. is playing well after the disaster of losing Brady for the year. B. Marshall scored 47 in the win with Cory's team being led by S.D. offense also scoring 47 in their first loss of the year.

Gruesome Goroos 128
Iron Man 107

I was pretty lucky this week with Walter's team having an off week. Marion Barber III led the goroos with 44 pts while Philip Rivers scored 38 for Iron Man.

Zach's team 204
Belugas 151

Zach had a breakthrough week with Roddy White scoring 40 points. The Belugas had another tough week with Brees (52 pts) being one of the few bright spots.

Week 2 in our league

How's everyone doing this week? Good, good. Quite interesting in our league this week with some blowouts, close games, and one extremely close game that required checking the score a few times extra. One thing before I get into this week's transactions, Bob alerted me to the fact that I missed a 7 point bonus on an over 50 yd td last week so his correct score was 168. If anyone has any questions on their score, let me know at 441-3340. Now on to the transactions. VY, let it fly picked up rookie rb Chris Johnson of the Titans, Gruesome Goroos pickup rookie rb Johnathan Stewart of Car, Bam's Punishers waived Nate Burleson who is on IR and picked up Devery Henderson wr, Saints, Indonesian Apostles pick up wr Santana Moss, and the Belugas pick up rb Darren Sproles. Player of the week was Philip ( Free Flowing) Rivers with 69 pts. Now on to the scores.

Iron Man 205
Indonesian Apostles 177

The qb's took charge of this game early and often with Rivers leading Walter's team with 69 pts while Don was led by Aaron Rodgers with 51 pts.

Dragonriders 201
Zach's team 88

Anquan Boldin led the riders with 59 pts and Zach was led by P. Manning with 37 pts.

VY, let it fly 206
Gridiron Gal 188

Tony Romo took charge for VY with 56 pts and Laurie's team played them pretty close with Cutler scoring 59.

Pat's Pride 183
Bam's Punishers 147

I know there will be plenty of trash talking after this one. Cory's team was led by A. Peterson with 53 pts while Joe B was led by Ariz off with 41 pts.

Gruesome Goroos 178
The Big Uglies 177

I checked and rechecked this one. The Goroos were led by Westbrook with 40 pts while Joe P was led by Calvin Johnson with 43 pts.

Orange Crush 184
Belugas 126

Brandon Marshall didn't look too rusty after not playing last week with 62 pts and Bob's team were led by GB's off with 46 pts.

Week 1 of the 2008 FHLOG League

It's a new season for everyone and week 1 proved to change how some of us feel about our chances this year. All I can say is Dan got his wish ( remember how he hoped Brady would break his leg even though he drafted him). Everyone who drafted N.E. players are wondering how this affects them. It really is too bad for fans as well as the whole NFL with Brady going down. This week there ended up being almost all blowouts in our league. This week's transactions included the O.C. picking up Matt Cassell, Reggie Bush, wr Eddie Royal, waiving qb Tom Brady, the Dragonriders picking up qb Matt Ryan, and Bam's Punishers picking up wr Hines Ward and rb Felix Jones. Top performer of the week was Michael ( I wish I got him before Frank) Turner with a whopping 78 Pts. Now on to the highlights and scores.

The Dragonriders 161
Indonesian Apostles 129

Randy ( Where's Tom?) Moss led the Dragonriders with 34 pts while the IA's were led by Brandon Jacobs with 30 pts in a much anticipated matchup of last year's championship game.

Pats' Pride 180
Gridiron Gal 142

Cory looks pretty smart now with that Matt Forte pick ( 47 pts). The GG's were led by Cutler and Gore with 34 pts each.

Gruesome Goroos 197
The Belugas 161

The Goroos were led by Marion Barber with 34 pts while Bob scared me with Drew Brees ( 58 pts).

Iron Man 227
Orange Crush 140

What a difference a week makes. To be honest Walter, I thought you might have one of the weaker teams when we drafted. The NFL is hard to predict. Dan , I feel for you ( at least the Broncos smoked the Raiders). Willie Parker led Iron Man with 51 pts ( he had 3 tds on Sunday, 2 tds all last year) . Dallas' offense scored 38 for the O.C.

VY, let it fly 216
Zach's team 101

VY, where are you? You're not supposed to fly the coop! Frank almost won with just Turner ( 78 pts) while Zach's team was led by Phily's defense with 30 pts.

Bam's Punishers 184
The Big Uglies 118

Let the trash talking begin ( if anyone hasn't seen the Punishers' post yet, check it out). The kid wins one game and already he's the best thing since sliced bread. Hey Don, do you remember Jeremy ( America's Most Wanted) , I think he's back. It sounds like him at least. Players of the game were McNabb (60 pts) for the Punishers and C. Johnson and Saints Offense with 29 apiece for the Big Uglies.

I will hopefully talk to Bob and Zach either tonight or tomorrow night. I know for sure that Bob is in but I'm not sure on Zach. If Zach doesn't call me back by kickoff of the giants/redskins game on thursday, than Mark's cousin Brian will take over the team ( I already have his picks). This ensures that we have 12 teams.

I'll let everyone know as soon as their team's are drafted so then others can pick up additional bench spots.
