Fhlog Bowl I results

What a matchup this was!!!! I truly feel for both teams because they really left everything on the field. Fhlog Bowl I MVP was Peyton Manning for the Dragonriders with 49 pts. On to the highlights.

It truly was an upset. Mark, you really had an awesome year. You pretty much dominated all of us all year. Don, you became the Denver Broncos to some extent. I think Denver lost 3 or 4 Super Bowls before they finally won it all. I think Don has been to the championship game 3 or 4 times and never won it all until now. I guess Don wants an Aikman jersey ( who???). No, I'm sure even the young guys remember him. I hope we can find one in the 70 to 100 dollar range. I'm not even sure what retired player jerseys are going for. I want to call some of you and find out a night to go out to eat. I hope everyone will be able to come out as a nice way to end the season. Talk to you later.

Week 15 playoff results

At least I was half rights on my prognostications. Our championship matchup is set. The player of the week was LaDainian Tomlinson with 43 pts ( in the first half). Imagine if he played the 2nd half? This was a tough week in general with everyone's scores down.

Blue Stars 154
Gridiron Gal 118

Laurie was finally hurt with Dallas having an off week offensively. Congratulations though for greatly improving her team this year. Tomlinson led the Blue Stars while Dallas' defense led the GG's with 31 pts.

Dragonriders 189
Cory's team 123

Cory was definitely hurt by the difficult weather affecting play last Sunday at Gillette. A fine season by both combatants who were rookies in our league but played like grizzled veterans. Frank Gore led Cory with 34 pts while Clinton Portis was the Dragonriders top player with 37 pts.

So that sets up what should be an exciting matchup in the first ever FHLOG Bowl. The matchups look pretty even but the Dragonriders seem destined after their 13 - 2 record so far. I just hope Jessica Simpson doesn't show up and make everyone nervous.

Week 14 deals, highlights, and scores

Well that's it for the regular season. This was a very interesting season with ups and downs for everyone. Some have switched gears to next season while others still have a lot to play for. I hope Mark, Laurie, Don, and Cory ( wherever you are) have started thinking about where they would like to eat and which jersey they would like. I personally enjoyed this season fighting and scratching for wins ( I know wah, wah, injuries, injuries). Last week I forgot to post that Don acquired wr, Colston from Brady's Bunch for 700 credits and dropping wr, Evans. This week, (I think everyone already knows about the trade) I traded wr, Moss, te, Gates, and rb A. Peterson ( Minn) to the Blue Stars for 2 picks and 1500 credits. Right now it is his 3rd and 5th rounder next year. If he wins against Gridiron Gal, it becomes a 2nd and 5th rd pick. If Don wins it all, it becomes a 1st and a 4th rd pick. Cory would have had to lose to Dan ( wasn't going to happen). I would have had to win against Bill, score 53 pts more than Don, and Don would have had to lose to the Dragonriders. I didn't think that would happen so I decided to set up my team for next year. Player of the week was # 12 Thomas Brady of your New England Patriots ( also starting for the 2008 Orange Crush edition) with 82 pts.

Dragonriders 258
Blue Stars 241

This was like watching Texas Tech play Hawaii. Wow, what a high scoring affair. This could be a preview of FHLOG BOWL I. This one came down to the Indy-Balt game with the Riders winning a close one. Top player for the Riders was qb P. Manning with 49 pts with Don's top player being rb Tomlinson with 55 pts.

Belugas 212
Gridiron Gal 189

Bob finishes his season strong with an upset win. His top player was qb Brees with 51 pts while the GG's were led by M. Barber with 45 pts.

Gruesome Goroos 137
Brady's Bunch 127

Wow Bill, I gave up and you still lost . I only filled 6 of 9 positions. I'm not boasting, it's just that Bill, you really stink. My top player was rb Grant with 52 pts while qb Hasselbeck led the Bunch with 44 pts.

Cory 258
O. C. 160

Cutler led the O. C. with 42 pts while Brady's 82 pts led Cory's squad to a convincing win.

Week 15 matchups

Gridiron Gal at Blue Stars

Cory's team at Dragonriders

I've checked out the individual matchups and the NFL is hard to predict but I think Don and Cory will win ( no disrespect Laurie and Mark). I'm sure you want to thank me for the kiss of death. It really depends on that NE - JETS matchup and how badly the Pats want to grind those pathetic Jets into dust. How many yards and tds will Brady have? Who will he throw to most, Moss or Welker? Cory's success depends so heavily on the Pat's success so I don't know. Both matchups will probably be pretty close. Enjoy the games and have a great week everyone.

Week 13's highlights and scores

That's it, it's come to this, the final week of the regular season for our league. Some are securing spots in the playoffs, some are securing their draft order for next year. Any trades or acquisitions for the rest of the year, have to be made this week before the end of Monday night's game ( the last game of week 14). There have not been any transactions made this week. LaDainian Tomlinson was the player of the week with 66 pts. On to the scores and highlights.

Blue Stars 229
Brady's Bunch 140

I believe that's the highest score of the year for the Blue Stars. The rb's Tomlinson ( 66 pts) and Mcgahee ( 46 pts) almost beat the BB's singlehandedly. The BB's playoff push is dealt a final blow.

Cory's team 234
Belugas 169

Cory made a strong move towards the playoffs this week. Tony Gonzalez was his top performer with 38 pts while Hines Ward scored 35 for Bob's Belugas.

Dragonriders 195
Gruesome Goroos 178

The Dragonriders just keep rolling towards the playoffs with T. O. scoring 48 pts for them. The Goroos were led by Dal off with 47 pts.

Gridiron Gal 162
Orange Crush 102

Tony Romo continues to lead this team with a terrific season ( 55 pts) . Steven Jackson led the O. C. with a game Dan expected from him every week ( 44 pts).

So our probable playoff matchups are Dragonriders vs Cory and Gridiron Gal vs Blue Stars. We'll all have to wait and see. Enjoy the coming weekend everyone.

Week 12's transaction, scores, and highlights

Hello, hello, I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. With only two weeks left in our regular season, things are getting a little more interesting in the Alpha division. The Omega division continues to be a two horse race. The Dragonriders made a move this week acquiring Indy's def for half price and getting charged 500 credits next year. The player of the week was Frank "I haven't called your name all year" Gore with 64 pts.

Gridiron Gal 197
Blue Stars 178

Performer of the game was Indy's off for the Blue Stars with 41 pts. M. Barber and Dal's def scored 37 each to lead the GG's to their 9th win. Blue Stars are struggling a little right now holding on to their division lead by the slimmest of margins.

Brady's Bunch 211
Belugas 205

Brady's Bunch making a late season push with their 4th straight win. Chad Johnson led the BB's with 52 pts while Brees led the Belugas with 44 pts.

Gruesome Goroos 226
Cory's team 206

Goroos pick up a much needed win with wr Fitzgerald leading the team with 56 pts. Gore led Cory's team with 64 pts.

Dragonriders 229
Orange Crush 176

Dragonriders continue to cruise through their schedule with their 3rd straight win and 10th overall. Cin off was their top performer with 45 pts while the O. C. were led by #6 Jay Cutler with 50 pts.

Week 11 happenings, scores, highlights

Greetings to all. This is a great time of the year this week with Thanksgiving, football, and family and/or friends. One deal happened this week with the Goroos acquiring 1000 credits from Brady's Bunch for 1500 credits next year. I acquired rb Ryan Grant (GB) and dropped St. L off. Bill would also like to let everyone know that there is now a fire sale in effect. ALL his players can be had ( hasselbeck, colston, chad johnson). He has now won 3 in a row but he still thinks that he's done. Player of the week was everyone's favorite psycho Terrell Owens with 77 pts.

Cory's team 251
Blue Stars 177

Cory's New England connection ( Brady 65 pts NE off 60 pts) is hard to beat, especially when he has 2 healthy wide receivers ( A. Johnson is finally back, 44 pts). Blue Stars were led by qb Palmer with 45 pts.

Dragonriders 205
Belugas 178

Dragonriders continue impressive rookie season. Belugas despite loss, still in the thick of the wildcard race. T. O. ( 77 pts) , NE def ( 37 pts) led each team in scoring.

Gridiron Gal 187
Gruesome Goroos 183

Closest matchup of the week. Injuries played a big part in this matchup. Romo led the GG's ( female version) with 53 pts. Randy Moss led the GG's ( male version ) with 59 pts.

Gutter Bowl
Brady's Bunch 132
Orange Crush 100

Both teams already with their eyes fully fixated on the 2008 season ( few were actually at the stadium to witness this epic battle). Hasselbeck scored 45 pts for the BB's with Cutler leading the O. C. with 28 pts.

Week 10 scores and highlights

Everyone still sore from football last Sunday? I'm almost back to normal. I think everyone had a good time even though Dan and I went 0 - 3. Dan's going to have to make some new flashcards for next year ( Those plays didn't work). One move this week with the Goroos counting up their pennies and acquiring K Bironas and dropping K Mare. There was a stunning upset in our league this week. You'll have to read on. Player of the week was qb Romo with 49 pts.

Week 9 scores, blunders, and highlights

How's everything with everyone? Another exciting week in The Fhlog is now over. The Orange Crush this week acquired Jason Witten, te Dal, played him, then traded him to the Dragonriders after the game for TE Todd Heap and a Fhlog 2008 1st rd pick!!! If Witten gets injured from now until Week 14, the teams will revoke the deal. I think that's an awfully good deal for the Crush, what do you think? If the Dragonriders win it all, it might prove worthy. The O.C. also dropped te Shockey. Also this week the Goroos get qb Schaub back and the Dragonriders reacquire qb D. Anderson. On Sunday this week, New Hope Chapel is having it's annual football game at 1:00 ( SHARP!!!) and Thanksgiving dinner at Chariho High School at 5:00 for anyone who didn't know and would like to go. A great time is in store for everyone!!! I believe that's all the news to report this week. Blunder of the week was not taking time to study my lineup and playing Larry Johnson instead of Adrian Peterson. Big Oops. I thought San Diego and Green Bay's rush defense were basically a wash. I believed that San Diego would shut AP down without a decent QB. Boy was I wrong. I should have studied a little more. He should have been the player of the week with 98 ( ouch ) pts. Instead the POTW is Addai for the GG's with 69 pts. On to the scores and highlights.

Gruesome Goroos 256
The Blue Stars 178

The Alpha Division is a lot closer than a few weeks ago. Don has lost 3 in a row. Goroos have won 5 in a row. Players of the game were rb Lynch for the Goroos with 64 pts and wr Evans with 53 pts for the Blue Stars.

Belugas 151
O. C. 119

Belugas 1 game back in division after 2nd straight win. O. C. in selling mood after 5th loss in a row. Players of the game qb Brees for the Belugas with 66 pts and rb Bush for the O. C. with 39 pts.

Brady's Bunch 156
Cory 116

BB's with an onslaught of offensive prowess this week. Bill gets 2nd win of the season with wr Colston leading his team with 45 pts. Cory's got 4 wins with basically one wide receiver all season. ( Not bad ) Qb Brady and TE Gonzalez led his team with 38 pts.

Gridiron Gal 248
Dragonriders 222

This proved to be a strong battle between 2 evenly matched teams. Addai led the GG's with 69 pts and rb Portis led the Dragonriders with 58 pts.

Standings with pt totals after wk 9

Week 8 highlights and scores

Greetings and salutations to all league members! What's going on? How's everyone feeling halfway through the season? Seem's like it was just yesterday we sat together at that Fenner Hill home and had the draft. The divisions became a little more interesting this week. One deal to speak of this week made moments ago with the Dragonriders trading D. Anderson to the Goroos for Schaub and 100 credits for one week with the players returning to their previous teams next week. Mark really warmed to the idea when I told him I was playing Donald this week! On to the scores and highlights.

Belugas 258
Blue Stars 200

Blue Stars drop 2nd in a row and now only 1 game up in the division. Belugas saved largest output for the right week against division leader. Drew Brees led the way for the Belugas with 57 pts. Reggie Wayne scored 58 for the Blue Stars.

Gruesome Goroos 148
Orange Crush 114

Goroos come charging back in the division with 4th straight win. Player of the game was Bulger with 37 pts. Jay Cutler led the O.C. with 26 pts.

Cory's team 213
Gridiron Gal 129

I think I'm just going to start calling them Team Brady. Another average week at the office for Tom Brady with 306 passing and 5 total tds( 61 pts). Addai led the GG's with 47 pts. Cory has won 3 in a row to come back in the Omega division.

Dragonriders 127
Brady's Bunch 122

I almost had to eat crow on this one( what a weird saying that is). I expected a blowout for the riders and if Henry had played for the Broncos, Bill would probably have his 2nd win. I don't think anyone has a shot at Brady next year in the draft, he's all Bill's. Performer of the game was SD's def for the Bunch with 45 pts. P. Manning led the Dragonriders with 39 pts.

Standings after wk 8

Week 7 apologies, news, highlights, and scores (whew!)

I learned something very important last week, some things aren't supposed to be erased. I thought I would clear out all my old drafts, but I guess you can't. I will try to post all the old scores sometime next week. Separation is slowly starting to happen in the divisions between the cream of the crop and the well...... crop. Only one acquisition was made this week with Gridiron Gal picking up K Jeff Reed, Pitt and dropping K Scobee and QB Trent Green. Player of the week was Team A's Tom Brady with another jaw-dropping performance ( 354, 6 tds) ( 78 pts). On to the scores and highlights.

Dragonriders 223
Blue Stars 141

I wonder if any of the older members of the league ever had visions of dragonriders and blue stars in their younger days? Maybe we don't want to know. Tough week for Tomlinson to have his bye. You always like to see the division leaders go at each other with all their top guns. Wes Welker was player of the game with 46 pts.

Gridiron Gal 186
Belugas 115

Laurie's on a roll. She continues to get solid production throughout her whole lineup. Performers of the game were Pitt off with 38 pts and Dallas def with 37 pts.

Gruesome Goroos 159
Brady's Bunch 81

Couldn't have picked a better week for my qb to throw for 23 yds. Thanks, Bill. Team San Diego had the bye this week. Randy Moss was player of the game with 48 pts.

Cory's team 215
Orange Crush 135

I've heard that Coach Shanahan of the Orange Crush could be making some changes soon . We'll have to wait and see. Still way under the salary cap, plenty of moves could be in store. Player of the game was the Patriot's 2001 6th round pick ( Tom Brady). Amazing, isn't it?

Week 6 highlights and scores

Thanks to the Blue Stars for their fine accomodations for the Pats-Cowboys game. A good time was had by all. The caramel popcorn clumps topped off the evening! Thank you, Don. Several teams were hit hard by 6 NFL teams having their byes this past week. There were definitely some low scores this week. The only league news this past week was the Dragonriders acquiring qb Derek Anderson. Player of the week was rb (Yo,Adrian) Peterson for the Goroos with 91 pts. That was my Doug Price impersonation. On to the scores we go.

Blue Stars 176
Brady's Bunch 151

Player of the game was rb Tomlinson for the Blue Stars with a Tomlinson-like effort ( 79 pts) ( 198 rushing, 4 tds ). Brady bunch's top performer was qb Hasselbeck with 47 pts. Brady's bunch moves into top spot again for Scarlet L, top draft picks, and ridicule.

Cory's team 244
Belugas 58

Bob only had 3 positions he had players in. Tom Brady was player of the game with 81 pts.

Gruesome Goroos 256
Dragonriders 237

Mark had a more well rounded effort from his team but Peterson proved to be too much to overcome. Dragonriders last undefeated team to fall. Pretty impressive for drafting last I would say. Steve Smith was top player for Dragonriders with 48 pts.

Gridiron Gal 120
Orange Crush 60

5 empty positions for the Crush. Player of the game was TE Chris Cooley of the GG's with 37 pts.
